Franciscan Sister Frances Kempenich, 97, died July 22 at St. Francis Convent, Little Falls. Receiving of the body of Sister Frances will be Thursday, July 28, at 9 a.m. followed by visitation until the time of her funeral at 11 a.m. at St. Francis Convent.
Benedictine Sister Marie (Alda) Gerads, 85, died July 18 at St. Scholastica Convent, St. Cloud. The Eucharist of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 26, at Sacred Heart Chapel, St. Benedict’s Monastery, St. Joseph.

Deacon Frank A. Schmainda, 80, of Glenwood, died Friday, May 27, at Autumn Cottages Assisted Living in Alexandria. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church in Glenwood Friday, June 17, at 11 a.m. with visitation one hour prior to Mass. Inurnment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Glenwood.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 1, at St. Mary’s Cathedral with a vigil service at 7 p.m. in the upper church. Visitation will resume at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 2, until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m.
Benedictine Sister Linda (Valeria) Kulzer, 92, died May 21 at St. Scholastica Convent, St. Cloud. The Eucharist of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 28, at Sacred Heart Chapel, St. Benedict’s Monastery, St. Joseph, with burial of cremated remains in the monastery cemetery.
Benedictine Father Luigi Bertocchi, 82, died April 30 in the retirement center at St. John’s Abbey. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. May 5 in St. John’s Abbey and University Church, with interment in the abbey cemetery following the service.
Deacon Guy Beck, 74, died April 2 at St. Benedict Senior Community in St. Cloud. A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 26, at St. John’s Abbey Church in Collegeville.
