GRANT Applications

Proposal Guidelines

Our Father’s Foundation is a small family foundation incorporated under Texas law. We distribute grants of less than $10,000 to tax-exempt, 501(c)3 organizations in the El Paso, Texas area. The Foundation does not provide grants to individuals.

All grant proposals within our mission and area of geographical coverage are considered.

Proposals must be submitted on agency letterhead and should be one (but not more than three) pages in length.

The proposal should include a short background of the organization, including its mission, number of years in operation, annual operating budget and previous and current sources of funding.

The proposal will describe the need addressed by the grant, the intended outcome of the project or event and the exact dollar amount of the grant requested.

Please attach an annual report, agency brochure and listing of board members if possible.

Finally, the agency’s IRS determination letter should accompany each proposal. This requirement will be waived only if the potential grantee has established a file with Our Father’s Foundation.

Mail grant requests to:

Laurie Paternoster, President

ADDITIONAL TIPS

Grant recipients must have the financial potential to sustain the program for which funding is sought after the conclusion of the Foundation grants.

Preventive programs with long-range goals are most favorably received.

Grants are generally made for one year or one project.

We generally do not consider grants for one-time events or operating expenses.

Decisions on grant requests are made at the Our Father's Foundation annual meeting in October. Proposals submitted before September 30 are considered for the coming year's funding cycle. Grants submitted after that date will be held until the next funding cycle.

It is not necessary to contact the Foundation as all grant applicants will be notified in writing as to their status by Oct. 31.

Proposals must be postmarked by September 30 for consideration in the next budget year. Applications also may be submitted by e-mail but must be received by September 30.
